This week, we looked at how long people keep a grid open based on the number of streams inside it. The difference is stark. For grids with just one stream, most were closed within the first minute. For grids with three or more, the median watch time was 12 minutes.
The Tipping Point for Watch Time
Our watch time data shows a clear split in behavior. When people used the multi-stream viewer to watch just one stream, most of these 419 sessions closed before our first measurement at the one-minute mark. Only 14% of these single-stream grids stayed open for over 15 minutes.
Adding a second stream appears to change things. For grids with two streams, the median watch time was 2 minutes. The biggest shift came with three or more streams. For these larger grids, the median watch time rose to 12 minutes, and 49% of them were kept open for more than 15 minutes.
A Look at This Week's Grids
Between October 12 and October 18, people opened 5,352 grids on ViewGrid. The busiest day of the week was October 17, which saw 919 grids created.
Most people built grids with multiple streams. This week, 66% of all grids contained three or more streams. We also saw a number of very large layouts, with 822 grids built to include nine or more streams. It was also common to pull from different sources, as 674 grids combined streams from more than one platform.
Table Tennis and Badminton Lead Event Clicks
The most frequently added events from our schedule this week were two racket sports. The European Table Tennis Championships 2026 was added to 200 grids. Right behind it was the VICTOR Denmark Open 2026 (BWF Super 750), which was part of 197 grids.
Esports and other competitions also drew interest. Jynxzi's League of Legends Streamer Tournament was added to 84 grids, the WKF Cadet, Junior & U21 Karate World Championships 2026 to 43, and MPL Indonesia Season 18 to 38.
