ViewGrid for Chrome: Add the Stream You Are Watching to a Grid in One Click
The free ViewGrid extension for Chrome and Edge adds the YouTube, Twitch or Kick stream you are on to a grid with one click. No account needed, no permissions beyond the current tab.
Until now, building a grid on ViewGrid meant copying a link from Twitch, YouTube or Kick and pasting it into the site. That is fine for one stream. For five, it gets old.
ViewGrid for Chrome fixes that. It is a small, free extension that was approved on the Chrome Web Store this week. It also works in Microsoft Edge and other Chromium browsers.
What it does
Open any stream on Twitch, YouTube or Kick and click the ViewGrid icon. The extension recognises the page and offers one button:
- a Twitch channel page → Add to grid
- a Kick channel page → Add to grid
- a YouTube video or live stream → Add to grid
- a YouTube channel page → Open channel grid, which opens all of that channel's live streams at once
Keep browsing and keep adding. The extension remembers your list (up to 12 streams) and shows Open grid (N). One click opens them side by side on ViewGrid, in a new tab.
There is also a Save button. It opens the same grid on ViewGrid and saves it to your account (you will be asked to sign in if you are not), so it shows up on your live home, on your phone and in the apps.
What it does not do
- It asks for no permissions beyond the tab you are on when you click it. It cannot see your other tabs or your browsing history.
- It makes no network requests of its own and collects no data. The list of streams you build is stored in your own browser.
- It does not add buttons or overlays to Twitch, YouTube or Kick pages. Those pages stay exactly as they are.
- It does not need an account. Saving a grid to your account is the only part that asks you to sign in.
Why an extension
Most grids that stay open for hours are on a desktop screen: someone keeping a tournament's points of view, a set of news channels or a few favourite streamers side by side while they work. On a desktop, the browser is where the streams already are. An extension that sits next to the address bar is the shortest path from "I am watching this" to "I am watching this and four others".
Install it
Get it from the Chrome Web Store. After installing, pin the icon to your toolbar so it is always one click away. On Edge, open the same page and allow extensions from other stores when asked.
