The More Streams You Add, The Longer You Stay

Between October 5 and October 11, how long people kept a grid open lined up closely with how many streams were in it. The data shows a direct relationship between the number of streams in a grid and how long people keep it open. Adding just one more stream seems to be the difference between a quick look and settling in to watch.
How Watch Time Changes With Grid Size
We measured watch time on 2,653 grids between October 5 and October 11. The median watch time for all of them was 2 minutes. But that single number hides the real story. When we separated the grids by how many streams they contained, three very different viewing patterns appeared.
For the 406 grids that had only one stream, the median watch time was so short that most closed within the first minute. Just 13% of these single-stream sessions were kept open for longer than 15 minutes. This looks like behavior for quickly checking a score or seeing if a stream is live before committing.
When people added a second stream, the session length more than doubled. For the 437 grids with two streams, the median watch time jumped to 2 minutes, and 34% of these grids stayed open past the 15-minute mark.
The biggest group, however, was the 1,810 grids with three or more streams. Here, the median watch time was 5 minutes. Of these more complex grids, 42% were watched for over 15 minutes, and 24% of all measured grids were kept open for over an hour. The pattern is clear: people who set up a more complex viewing environment with the multi-stream viewer tend to watch for significantly longer.
Most Grids Are Complex
Looking at the whole week, people opened 5,650 grids in total. The tendency toward more complex setups wasn't just limited to the grids we measured for watch time; it was the norm across the site.
This past week, 69% of all grids created had three or more streams. This wasn't a niche activity. A significant number of people went even further, with 913 grids containing nine or more streams. We also saw 644 grids that pulled in streams from more than one platform, combining different sources onto a single screen.
Racket Sports Dominate the Events List
The most frequently added events from our homepage list were dominated by table tennis and badminton. The top event was WTT China Smash, which was added to grids 388 times. It was followed by two badminton tournaments: the BWF World Junior Championships (Team Event) with 235 clicks and the BWF Arctic Open 2026 with 130.
Two esports events also appeared in the top five. ESL Pro League Season 24 (CS2) was added to grids 42 times, and MPL Philippines Season 18 was added 35 times.
A Weekend Peak in Activity
The rhythm of the week showed a familiar pattern, with a build-up of activity toward the weekend. After starting with 766 grids on Monday and 759 on Tuesday, usage dipped slightly to 686 on Wednesday. Activity began to climb on Friday with 858 grids. The busiest day of the week was Saturday, October 10, when 1,073 grids were opened, before activity settled at 806 grids on Sunday.
The watch time data gives us a much clearer picture of how people use the site. We'll continue to watch these numbers to see how viewing habits evolve.
