Over the last three days, we measured how long people kept their grids open. For grids with three or more streams, the median watch time was 5 minutes. This contrasts with grids showing just a single stream, where most were closed within the first minute of being opened.
Watch Time by Grid Size
From Friday to Sunday, we measured watch time on 2,341 grids. Overall, the median time a grid stayed open was 2 minutes. Of all grids measured during this period, 35% were open for longer than 15 minutes, and 22% remained open for over an hour.
The numbers change based on how many streams were in the grid.
For the 1,469 grids with three or more streams, 41% were kept open for at least 15 minutes. For the 398 grids with exactly two streams, the median watch time was 1 minute, and 31% were open past the 15-minute mark. For the 474 grids with only one stream, 18% were open for more than 15 minutes.
Weekly Activity and Grid Composition
Across the entire week, from October 26 to November 1, a total of 4,863 grids were opened in the multi-stream viewer. Activity built toward the end of the week, with the busiest day being Sunday, November 1, when 918 grids were created.
Looking at how those grids were built, 65% contained three or more streams. A smaller set of users built much larger layouts; 697 grids over the week were set up with nine or more streams. We also saw 484 grids that combined streams from more than one platform.
